LEDLOGIQ

What is LEDLOGIQ?

LEDLOGIQis a comprehensive design approach which integrates emerging LED technologies with advanced industrial design, optical, mechanical, electronic and thermal engineering to deliver optimal lighting distribution, consistent color and exceptional system performance. LEDLOGIQ solutions have also been designed to be future proof. Fixtures are easily field upgradeable for hassle-free maintenance and to accommodate future advancements in solid state lighting technology. LEDLOGIQ products are covered by a 5 year warranty on the LED light engine, driver, and all fixture components with world class support backed by Philips Ledalite.

Can I integrate other Philips Ledalite controls technology with LEDLOGIQ products?

Yes. Response® daylight harvesting sensors, Airwave™ wireless controls, and standard 0-10V dimming equipment are all compatible with LEDLOGIQ products.

What testing do LEDLOGIQ products go through?

As part of design development and manufacturing, all Philips Ledalite LEDLOGIQ luminaires undergo extensive inspection and independent third-party testing to ensure quality, reliability and longevity.
The LEDs used in LEDLOGIQ fixtures are also tested to IES LM-80 and the fixtures are tested by a third party NVLAP (National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program) approved lab to IES LM-79. As a final quality check, 100% of LEDLOGIQ fixtures are tested for the following U.S. DOE Lighting Facts parameters prior to being shipped: lumen output, color temperature and CRI of the light engine; as well as the power draw of the fixture.

What guarantee do I have that LEDLOGIQ products will deliver reliable and consistent performance?

All LEDLOGIQ product offerings have been design engineered for long-term reliability, and are backed by Philips' LED expertise and reliability. Production quality checks are carried out on every fixture to ensure that all products adhere to the highest standards.

Are LEDLOGIQ fixtures field upgradeable?

Yes. LEDLOGIQ fixtures are designed for easy replacement of the light engine and driver to ensure quick, hassle-free maintenance, and to accommodate future upgrades in line with the rapid advancements in solid state lighting.

Who manufactures the LEDLOGIQ LED Components?

To guarantee a lifetime of performance, Philips Ledalite utilizes only leading global LED vendors to ensure LEDLOGIQ fixtures are built with the optimum components, LEDs and drivers available.

What is the useful life of Jump LED?

Philips Ledalite LED products maintains an industry-leading 80% of initial light output at more than 60,000 hours (L80 > 60,000 hours).

8 hours/day 20.5 years
12 hours/day 13.7 years
18 hours/day 9.1 years
24 hours/day 6.8 years

How has thermal management been approached in Philips Ledalite luminaires and why is it important?

LED light output and useful life are strongly affected by operating temperature. Effective thermal management is critical to LED fixture performance, as excess heat reduces light output and shortens the useful life of LED sources. For efficient operation and maintenance, heat must be conducted away from the LED.

LEDLOGIQ luminaires are thermally engineered to dissipate heat through conduction and convection paths to minimize the LED junction temperature and maximize the LED light output, lifetime and reliability.

What is the lifetime projection for the LEDs in LEDLOGIQ products?

Philips Ledalite designs all of our LEDLOGIQ luminaires to operate at low drive currents and low temperature, this greatly extends the lifetime of both the LEDs and the drivers used in these products. Based on LED LM-80 test data and in situ temperature measurement data, we are able to confidently project the very long lifetimes shown below for the LEDs in our LEDLOGIQ luminaires.

What lumen packages and color temperatures are available?

Multiple lumen packages and color temperatures are available. Please refer to individual product specification sheets.

Do LEDLOGIQ products offer consistent, reliable color?

Yes. During production, LEDs vary in color, luminous flux and forward voltage. Since the differences can be significant and have serious implications for luminaire manufacturers, LEDs are measured and delivered to market in subclasses or “bins” in accordance with the standard ANSI NEMA ANSLG C78.377-2008. Binning makes it possible to select LEDs that conform to certain specifications. To ensure quality of light, all LEDLOGIQ enabled products undergo an additional proprietary bin optimization process at Philips Ledalite to ensure that the chromaticity and lumen output of the final luminaires are consistent.

The MesoOptics lens further purifies the light, removing any striations and hot spots to create smooth gradients of pure, uniform white light. As a result, all Philips Ledalite LEDLOGIQ products feature luminaire to luminaire color consistency that is highly uniform and much tighter than the ANSI specifications. Typically, Philips Ledalite LEDLOGIQ linear products are within a 2-step MacAdam ellipse of each other and recessed products are within a 3-step MacAdam ellipse of each other at the beginning of life. The low operating temperatures and drive currents in LEDLOGIQ luminaires ensure that colour quality is maintained well within the ANSI standards throughout the rated lifetime of the product.

Is dimming available?

0-10V dimming is available for all LEDLOGIQ products. Other options are available, please consult Philips Ledalite for details.

Does Philips Ledalite comply with RoHS* standards?

Yes, all the components used in LEDLOGIQ products are rated to RoHS standards.

*RoHS stands for, “restriction of hazardous substances”. It regulates manufacturing processes as they relate to the amount of hazardous meterials used. The materials regulated include, but are not limited to lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) flame retardants.

What is the difference between Efficacy and Efficiency?

Although they are often confused with one another, efficacy and efficiency are two separate measures of fixture performance. Efficiency, reported as a percentage (%) is the ratio of fixture lumens to lamp lumens for a conventional light fixture. Efficacy, on the other hand is reported in lumens/Watt and is a measure of a total luminaire light output (lumens) versus units of input energy (Watts). It helps to remember that efficacy measures how much light a fixture produces per unit of electrical energy consumed and efficiency measures how much of the total light produced actually leaves the fixture. To accurately compare the efficacy of an LED light fixture and a conventional light fixture, you must compare the efficacy of each system as a whole, including light source, driver / ballast, electronics, fixture housing and optics.

What type of warranty is offered on LEDLOGIQ products?

Philips Ledalite has absolute confidence in the quality of our LED luminaires. All LEDLOGIQ products come with a 5 year total system warranty that covers the entire luminaire— including the LED light engine, driver and all fixture components— with world class support backed by Philips Ledalite.

Who do I contact in the event of an LED fixture failure?

In the unlikely event of a LEDLOGIQ fixture failure within the 5-year warranty period, contact your Philips Ledalite customer service representative. A new light engine and/or driver will be shipped to you with instructions on how to replace the existing components. You will be issued with an RMA (Return Materials Authorization) for the defective components.
