Philips achieves big performance in a small size with new family LED solutions.

New linear recessed LED and fluorescent luminaires from Philips Ledalite deliver exceptional performance and innovative optical design, making a definitive statement for any architectural environment.

Vancouver, Canada – Philips Ledalite is pleased to introduce TruGroove – a new lineup of LED and fluorescent linear recessed luminaires delivering superior performance in a variety of applications. TruGroove features innovative optical design and patented MesoOptics technology, which makes spaces more visually comfortable by optimally blending light and color, controlling high angle glare and creating a precisely-controlled batwing distribution.

TruGroove’s 3” narrow aperture lens provides fully luminous end-to-end luminance and no socket shadows–ideal for commercial applications such as offices, classrooms, libraries, retail spaces and healthcare environments. TruGroove allows lighting designers to deliver aesthetic impact with optimum light levels, at energy densities well below industry guidelines. Its sophisticated style, exceptional color rendering and reduced energy consumption make it a natural fit for applications where color, ambience and structure are imperative. TruGroove and MesoOptics technology combine to create balanced luminous environments to deliver efficacies as high as 69lm/W in LED fixtures and efficiencies as high as 83% fluorescent luminaires.

In addition to industry-leading performance, what truly sets TruGroove apart from other narrow aperture recessed products is its unique cable-cinch procedure. This method allows contractors to join fixtures below a drywall ceiling and raise them up to finish installation.

“It’s challenging to develop a product that not only looks beautiful, but also performs – and TruGroove is a product that encompasses both qualities,” said Don Jacklin, general manager for Philips Ledalite. “This new family of products is a true winner on all fronts – exceptional LED and fluorescent performance for a narrow aperture type products, easy installation for contractors, and a wide variety of choices for many applications.”

TruGroove fixtures are available in 2’, 4’, and 8’ standalone lengths, and continuous runs in virtually any length. TruGroove luminaires can be integrated into both t-grid and drywall ceilings to accommodate a diverse set of spaces. In addition, both LED and fluorescent versions of the product are available in symmetric and asymmetric distributions, in multiple lumen packages, color temperatures, and two lens options.

TruGroove integrates Philips Ledalite’s Response daylight harvesting sensors, which can reduce energy savings by 35%. Moreover, they also integrate with Airwave wireless, battery-free, solar and kinetically powered controls to further reduce energy consumption. All Philips Ledalite LED luminaires feature an easy “plug-and-play” installation that simplifies maintenance and upgrades, and carry a 5-year guarantee on the entire luminaire system (fixture, driver and LEDs).
