Sr. Product Development Engineer

You are a multi-talented individual who understands that new, innovative products are the lifeblood of any successful company. You bring exceptional leadership skills combined with a diverse background in mechanical design, engineering and previous experience focused around new product development.

Working with senior executives, engineering staff, manufacturing and marketing, you will be responsible for leading a multi-disciplined engineering team in the design of specification grade lighting solutions from concept through to final production. You will champion new product development efforts and ensure that new designs are innovative, industry leading, and most importantly, meet Ledalite’s business goals. Your responsibilities will also include incorporating new materials, manufacturing methods and design approaches as well as ensuring new projects are thoroughly planned and executed. The position will also entail hands on work including both mechanical and industrial design elements.

The successful applicant will have strong manufacturing knowledge, and the ability to work closely with supply vendors. In-depth knowledge of sheet metal design, plastics, die cast molded parts, aluminum extrusions and assembly methods are essential. An understanding of optics design (reflectors, refractors and diffusers) is desired, but not required.

This position also requires a bachelor’s degree in design, engineering or a related field with a minimum of 6-8 years experience. Proficiency with design software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD is essential.
