The green building movement is moving to the mainstream. No longer just the domain of the environmentally-conscious, the cost and code-conscious are also embracing the principles of sustainable design.
Fuelled by soaring energy costs, strict energy codes, and the success of initiatives such as the US Green Building Council’s LEED program (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), the industry is looking for ways to reduce energy consumption and improve sustainability. Lighting has a major role to play in this movement – and we are available to help our customers understand how.
LEED: Strategies for Interior Lighting is a one-hour course designed by Ledalite Architectural Products to help architects and other lighting professionals learn how to apply interior lighting to maximize sustainability objectives and qualify for LEED points. The presentation reviews design strategies, lighting applications, and case studies in the context of LEED.
Architects who attend this accredited program can earn one AIA learning credit and / or, in most cases, contribute to their state requirements for mandatory continuing education (MCE).
Ledalite, a registered AIA/CES provider, has already delivered several presentations of the course throughout North America and it is receiving positive feedback: “After listening to numerous such sessions, I was impressed with this content and with the instructor’s knowledge of LEED and interior lighting,” one attendee said in response to the AIA course evaluation.
“This is a great opportunity for architects and lighting professionals to learn about an important design trend while also earning credit toward their professional learning requirements,” says Don Jacklin, Ledalite National Sales Manager.
If you would like more information about the course, or if you are interested in arranging a presentation, please contact your Ledalite Sales Agent directly. The learning material is suitable for all levels of experience and there is no cost involved. Audiences can range in size from 5 to 30.
